The Crystal Child, a film directed by Jon Gunn, tells the story of Austin, a young man who lives with his family, made up of parents Scott and Theresa and his brother Logan. The boy is autistic and suffers from a rare disease that affects the bones to the point of making them very fragile. Although his life is neither easy nor easy for him, Austin wakes up every morning with a smile. His vision of the world of him is completely optimistic, carefree and joyful, so much so as to involve everyone around him.
His father Scott tries to do everything in his power to be a good parent to Austin, but too worried about the boy and in fear of not making it, he starts drinking. Austin, thanks to his outlook on life and his engaging optimism, will help him overcome this difficult time and consequently the addiction he has developed towards alcohol.
