Spirit Untamed, a film directed by Elaine Bogan and Ennio Torresan, tells the story of Lucky Prescott (Isabela Merced original voice), a girl who moves from her home in the city to a small border town, Miradero. The young woman lives with her aunt Cora (Julianne Moore original voice), because her mother died when she was still in diapers. The only things she knows about her deceased parent is that she was a stuntman, that she rode a horse and that she had a rebellious character.
Just like her mother, Lucky is also reluctant to respect the rules, often running away from home, causing many worries to her aunt, who tired of staying behind her decides to send her to her father Jim (Jake Gyllenhaal original voice) in the village by Miradero. In her new home, the young woman seems to get bored more and more every day, until she meets Spirit, a wild and rebellious horse just like her. Lucky soon becomes attached to her new friend, the two together will experience unexpected and courageous adventures.
