French Exit, the film directed by Azazel Jacobs, follows the story of Frances Price (Michelle Pfeiffer) and her son Malcolm (Lucas Hedges).
Frances is a sophisticated and attractive New York woman, queen of Manhattan's high society and rich salons. Widowed for twelve years, she squandered all her assets and now that she is on the verge of bankruptcy she decides to give up everything and together with her son, who is not helping her, she moves to Paris, in a small apartment made available by a friend. The two will cross the ocean by ship accompanied by the elderly cat Small Frank who seems to guard the spirit of the deceased Franklin. Once landed in Paris, mother and son will find themselves dealing with their past and planning an impossible future.
