Uncle Frank is the film written and directed by Alan Ball, which stars homosexual university professor Frank Bledsoe (Paul Bettany), who is forced to embark on a road trip from New York to South Carolina with his niece Beth ( Sophia Lillis) and comrade Walid (Peter Macdissi) at the news of their father's death. The film opens in Manhattan, it's 1973. Frank Bledsoe teaches in a College in New York City, where he lives peacefully with his boyfriend Walid Nadeem, “Wally”, with whom he has lived for ten years.
