The Father, directed by Florian Zeller, tells the story of Anthony (Anthony Hopkins), an 80-year-old man who, despite his advanced age, does not want help and assistance from his daughter Anne (Olivia Colman). The elderly person, however, really needs treatment, especially as his mind begins to falter due to senile dementia.
Day after day Anthony loses the perception of reality, which under his eyes begins to change into something foreign. He struggles to recognize even Anne herself, who appears different and unknown to him and begins to doubt her mind, her loved ones and everything around her. Sorrowful, Anne sees her father closing in on himself more and more and not being recognized by him appears to her as a mourning: she has lost her parent, despite the fact that he is still alive ...
