Mank, the film directed by David Fincher, tells the true story of Herman Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman), the famous American screenwriter awarded with the Oscar for the masterpiece directed by Orson Welles "Fourth Estate" (1941).
The film follows Mankiewicz during the birth and production of Welles' film and tells the Hollywood of the 1930s through the writer's critical eye.
Alongside the protagonist Gary Oldman we find Amanda Seyfried in the role of actress Marion Davies, Lily Collins in the role of Rita Alexander the secretary of Mankiewicz, Tuppence Middleton as his wife Sara Mankiewicz and Tom Burke in the role of director Orson Welles.
