What Happens Later, a film directed by Meg Ryan, tells the story of Willa and Bill (Meg Ryan and David Duchovny), two former lovers who see each other again ten years after the end of their relationship. As luck would have it, the two got stuck at the airport in the middle of the night due to the snow.
In these ten years their lives have taken different paths: Willa has continued to be a free and independent spirit; while David got married and recently divorced, so much so that he is trying to understand how to now relate to his ex-wife and their daughter. Both would like nothing more than to return to their homes, but their meeting causes them to start talking, remembering the past and the years spent together. Willa and Bill wonder what would have happened if they had never broken up and what life they would have now. But is it really over between them forever?
