The Tragedy of Macbeth, a film directed by Joel Coen, tells the Shakespearean tragedy starring the Scottish lord (Denzel Washington), convinced by a group of witches that he will become the next king of the kingdom. The lust for power and the ambition especially of his wife (Frances McDormand), eager to become Queen of Scotland, will lead him to commit violent crimes, just to see the prophecy come true.
The couple will go as far as political assassination in order to greedily get what he wants: success, power and money. But theirs will prove to be only a slow descent into the jaws of hell.
