The power of the dog, the film directed by Jane Campion, set in the 1920s, centers on the couple of the wealthy Burbank brothers, Phil (Benedict Cumberbatch) and George (Jesse Plemons), owners of a huge ranch in Montana who dominates the valley. The two are very different from each other: Phil is a brilliant but cruel man, with an overbearing and violent attitude, while George is a stubborn and fussy person, but always kind. When George secretly marries widow Rose (Kirsten Dunst), Phil refuses to accept it and starts a ruthless war against her by using her son Peter (Kodi Smit-McPhee) as a pawn.
