Red Rocket, a film directed by Sean Baker, tells the story of Mikey Saber (Simon Rex), a porn star who, after years of career in hardcore cinema, has decided to abandon porn and Los Angeles to return to her country of origin, in Texas, where the ex-wife and mother-in-law live. Here, however, he does not receive the warm welcome he expected.
Having no job or even a home, Mikey moves in with her ex and her mother, trying to put her old life back on its feet. While this dysfunctional family seems to be taking the first steps towards a new awareness, the man meets Strawberry (Suzanna Son), the cashier of a sweet shop, with whom he immediately feels a great feeling. Will the meeting with the young woman be a relapse into old habits or a new and hopeful beginning?
