Blithe Spirit, directed by Edward Hall, is the story of Englishman Charles Condomine (Dan Stevens), an author of detective novels who is experiencing the condition most feared by anyone in his profession: writer's block. This crisis in his mind that holds back his imagination has happened in a delicate period, in fact Charles has to deliver his first screenplay. Times are tight, the deadline is near and his creativity seems unable to give birth to anything good.

The writer convinces the woman to have a séance in her house, convinced that the ritual can unlock her fictional fantasy.
Madame Arcati casually evokes one spirit in particular, Elvira (Leslie Mann), Charles's first wife, still in love with him and jealous of Ruth.
