Fairy Godmother Wanted, the film directed by Sharon Maguire, follows the story of Eleanor (Jillian Bell), an apprentice fairy godmother, young and optimistic. When the girl discovers that her profession of hers is in danger of disappearing, she intends to show the world how much more magic is still needed. In the fairy kingdom, Eleanor finds a lost letter from Mackenzie, a sad 10-year-old girl and decides to help her.
Just during the Christmas season, the determined fairy arrives on planet Earth and discovers that Mackenzie (Isla Fisher), is now a grown woman who works in a news bulletin in Boston and that several years before her she has lost her husband. Left alone with her baby girl, Mackenzie no longer believes in love and happy ending stories, but Eleanor doesn't want to give up. It will be her job to change Mackenzie's mind and bring her happiness back into her life.
