Never Rarely Sometimes Always, a film directed by Eliza Hittman, tells the story of two great friends, Autumn (Sidney Flanigan) and her cousin Skylar (Talia Ryder), two inseparable teenagers who live in rural Pennsylvania. When Autumn becomes pregnant, the two decide to leave for New York in search of a suitable abortion facility, not present in their town.
The two will be forced to move away from the heavy family and social pressures of an oppressive environment and venture towards the Big Apple to freely decide what to do with the child. But on their journey the two girls will increasingly understand how important friendship and courage are in a difficult situation like that of an unwanted pregnancy.
