White Bird, a film directed by Marc Forster, tells the story of Julian (Bryce Gheisar), a somewhat arrogant child, who at school has a reputation for being a bully, so much so that he targets anyone he sees as "different". Because of this character of him, the boy is also suspended from school.
The summer after this experience, Julian spends his holidays in Paris with his grandmother (Helen Mirren), who during a hot afternoon tells him a story: how she managed to escape the Nazis as a girl during the Second World War. The grandmother was a young Jewess, who lived in France occupied by Hitler's troops.
