Girlfriend For Rent, the film directed by Gene Stupnitsky, stars the beautiful and enterprising Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence), a young woman who lives in Montauk, near New York.
Always grappling with economic difficulties, Maddie risks losing her home but it is when her car is confiscated that the situation worsens. She is an Uber driver and without her car she will also lose her job.
One day she reads an ad that catches her attention: a wealthy couple, Laird and Allison (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti), are looking for someone to woo and date their 19-year-old son Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman). The boy is extremely introverted, never leaves his room and doesn't talk to girls.
Parents overprotective and worried about him, look for a woman to unblock him before she goes to college. The couple is willing to pay Maddie generously and she can't help but accept. But already from the first meeting, the woman will understand that Percy is a very shy and out of the ordinary boy, and it won't be easy to conquer.
After accosting him and letting him into his van under the guise of giving him a lift, Percy runs away because he thinks he's been kidnapped.
