Father Stu, directed by Rosalind Ross, tells the story of an amateur boxer, Stuart Long (Mark Wahlberg), who has to say goodbye to his sporting career due to a serious injury. Determined to become famous in his life, the man moves to Los Angeles in search of fame, but the only job he finds is that of a clerk in a supermarket. Right at his new job, Stuart runs into Carmen (Teresa Ruiz), a Catholic Sunday school teacher who is not at all attracted to men.
Determined to conquer her, Stuart tries to impress her, starting to attend church more and more often, despite being competitive. But an accident will lead him to wonder if the second chance he has been given is not an opportunity to be exploited to help those most in need ... and this is how he becomes a Catholic priest, Father Stu.
