L'Ultimo Paradiso, a film directed by Rocco Ricciardulli, is set in 1958 in a small town in southern Italy. Here lives Ciccio (Riccardo Scamarcio), a 40-year-old farmer, married to Lucia (Valentina Cervi), with whom he had a son. Man's dream is to one day be able to change things in his country, so that the weakest are no longer exploited. Ciccio, in fact, is fighting together with some of his fellow villagers to prevent this from happening, but the situation is tough and even a slight change in this status seems, if not impossible, difficult to achieve.
Furthermore, the man is secretly infatuated with Bianca (Gaia Bermani Amaral), daughter of Cumpà Schettino (Antonio Gerardi), a landowner who exploits his peasants, as well as the type of landowner that Ciccio so despises. The farmer would like to run away with Bianca, but when Cumpà Schettino discovers their relationship and the couple's plan, he decides to make Ciccio pay for it. This is how their lives will soon be upset, inevitably affecting the life of anyone in the country.
