Hamilton, the film directed by Thomas Kail, is the filmed version of the show recorded in June 2016 at The Richard Rodgers Theater on Broadway.
Combining the classic musical style with sounds from the world of hip hop, R&B, pop, jazz and soul, the film tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America. The film is inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton", written by Ron Chernow.
The protagonist of the musical is Lin-Manuel Miranda, composer, singer and interpreter of extraordinary Broadway hits, who on this occasion also wrote the music and lyrics for the show.
