The Incredible Story of the Isle of Roses, the film directed by Sydney Sibilia, is based on real events that took place at the end of the 1960s in the waters of the Adriatic Sea, not far from the coast of Romagna. Incredible as it is, as the title of the new film by the director of I stop when I want says it, the story is that of Giorgio Rosa (Elio Germano), a mechanical engineer from Bologna, at the time just over forty, who created a microstate independent off the coast of Rimini. The few hundred square meters of the nation called the "Esperanto Republic of the Isle of Roses" were those of an artificial platform designed by Giorgio Rosa himself.
Alongside the protagonist Germano, in the cast of the film we find Matilda De Angelis, Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Luca Zingaretti, François Cluzet, Thomas Wlaschiha, Leonardo Lidi, Alberto Astorri and Violetta Zironi.
