Bardo, a film directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, tells of a personal journey, the one made by Silverio, a well-known Mexican journalist and documentary maker. The man, returned to his native land, goes through a moment of existential crisis, during which he does not recognize himself, questions everything from identity to family ties and is tormented by memories of him and the past of his country. It is precisely in the past that he tries to find the answers to reconcile his present. Amidst emotions and abundant laughter, Silverio struggles to find answers to universal yet intimate questions regarding his identity, success, the fragility of life, the history of Mexico and the deep emotional bonds he shares with his wife and children. In short, what it means to be human in these very special times.
