Babylon, the film directed by Damien Chazelle, is set in the Hollywood of the past, in the late twenties, in the period in which the films abandoned the silent to go to sound. Margot Robbie will play the role of Clara Bow, a famous sex symbol actress with red hair and a heart-shaped mouth, box office icon of the jazz age, with many films between silent and sound cinema to her credit. Brad Pitt will instead play the role of the male lead, a fictional character, a silent movie star, who finds it difficult to switch to spoken cinema. His character is inspired by Greta Garbo's longtime companion, John Gilbert.
