Reminiscence, directed by Lisa Joy, is set in a dystopian future, in which our planet has now become a huge ocean due to global warming. The waters, in fact, have submerged all the land and the cities are flooded. The people of Miami live and work at night, in complete darkness, resting during the day. Among them is the scientist and private investigator Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman), who through the use of a specific technology is able to dig into people's memories, so as to bring back certain memories and help them solve their current problems.
One day a woman as fascinating as she is mysterious, Mae (Rebecca Ferguson), knocks on her door, eager to investigate her past. Nick immediately falls in love with her, but when he tries to track her down, the woman seems to have disappeared into thin air ...
