Mogul Mowgli, a film directed by Bassam Tariq, tells the story of Zed (Riz Ahmed), a young Anglo-Pakistani rapper, who lives in New York, where he often performs, thanks also to the engagements obtained by his manager and girlfriend Vaseem (Anjana Vasan). It is right after his biggest concert in the Big Apple that the girl communicates the planning of a European tour, which should have as its first date London, where Zed's parents live.
Once in the English capital, the rapper returns to his house, where he relives the memories of childhood and adolescence, also listening to his first recorded tapes. Shortly before his performance, Zed feels numbness in his leg and passes out before awakening in the hospital, where he is diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. His conditions force him to be at home with his family and not be able to take part in the tour. It is at this moment that the boy finds himself reflecting on an inner conflict, that between his career and respect for traditions, while another rapper takes his place in European concerts.
