Demeter - The Awakening of Dracula, a film directed by André Øvredal, is set aboard a Russian boat, known as the Demeter, and chartered to transport a private cargo, i.e. twenty-four cases of lena without any marking or indication engraved on it . The journey begins in Carpathia, in Romania, and has London as its final destination.
The film follows the strange events that befall the crew as they sail the ocean, as each night a shadowy presence aboard the ship chooses its next victim. Once near Whitby Harbour, in the United Kingdom, the ship is now a wreck and there is no trace of the crew...
