Black Beauty Autobiography of a Horse, directed by Ashley Avis, tells the story of a friendship, the one between the teenager Jo (Mackenzie Foy) and a mustang mare. The young woman has recently suffered a serious bereavement, losing both parents, and she is still trying to metabolize the loss of her. The animal also carries a sad memory on its shoulders: she was born free to run across the prairies of the west of America, but after being captured and taken from her family, the mare was brought to Birtwick's farm. Here the wild equine will forge a strong bond with the young Jo, enough to help her overcome the difficult moment in her life.
In the cast of the film also Kate Winslet, who in the original version doubles the thoughts of the horse.
